Bedford FC: Inside Lee Howarth’s Mind

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

The manager of a football club has a lot of different things to do. He has to make sure that the boys are whipped into shape for the next game, and also understand the needs of their players. The football manager is one that has a lot of things to think about, especially when it comes to disciplining a team that did not have much of a stellar season. In football, it is important for the manager to be as competent as they can be, one that will learn from their mistakes and implement new strategies for the next season, to assure that they win more. In the case of Bedford F.C., this is especially true.

Lee Howarth is a greta manager, but like many, they always feel the need for improvement. This one in particular fought and won against relegation, after a bit of a rocky time last year. With that being done, Howarth feels as if they can achieve much more than that, especially with a great morale boost such as that. With the inception of Dan Walker, the 19 year old, the expectations that Howarth holds for his team are pretty high.

One of the biggest concerns on Howarth’s mind is acquiring another striker for Bedford F.C. Another striker would prove valuable to the team, as well as another defender. This will add to the pretty durable team, and definitely help in getting this team a few more victories in the upcoming season. What also is a key concern for the manager is the injuries. A few of their players have been injured, especially in Andrew Phillips. As a very important member of the team, he’s hoping that this athlete will be back in fighting form when the season is in full swing. Luckily, they have gotten back Battersby, who will prove crucial for their offense.
