Bedford F.C. – Defense

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

In many of the athletes on all of the teams, they say that the most important personnel happen to be the defense. The offense is very important because they score goals, but defenders generally do not get eh respect that they deserve. Without adequate defense, the team will certainly fall apart and be scored on left and right. This makes the defenders just as important, but they continually are the unsung heroes of the football world, usually because the offense will take all the glory with a well-timed goal.

When it comes to the Bedford F.C., there are many footballers that are absolutely amazing when it comes to defense. If many fans of the Eagles were to be asked, more than likely they would say that is the strongest point of the team. In fact, most fans voted for their defenders to be considered the player of the year for the Eagles. Stuart Hall received the most votes with 66, and Jon Darby with 54.

These electrifying players have really kept this team ahead, and also saved them from some pretty close calls as well. These heroes do their job to a level that is unexpected for them, and they do their jobs pretty consistently. Even though the offense scores the goals, it is the defense that has come up with so many amazing plays this season to stop the other team from marching right back down the field.

Both Hall and Darby are two that will continue to hold down the fort in the back while the offense does its job, all the while waiting until the ball crosses midfield, just awaiting the opportunity to stop everything that they come across. These two players will continue to mystify fans and shut down the opposing offense for years to come. And even though they do not get the game-winning shots, the game cannot be won without the efforts of these players.
